Sludges formed on power plants can be successfully dewatered using the SoilTain® geosynthetic tubes technology. Upon completion of dewatering, a significant reduction in sludge hydration is achieved with a high dry matter content.
During dewatering with application of the SoilTain® technology, a polyelectrolyte is dosed into the hydrated sludge in precise doses and quantities and the accuracy is ensured by numerous sensors. Polyelectrolyte is necessary for the dewatering process of sludges from power stations, because they contain very fine fractions, that must coagulate and thus retain in the sleeve of the geosynthetic tube.
The dewatered sludge can be easily managed or disposed.
